Tuesday Poem: 'Visiting Blair at Warrington' by Peter Olds

Blair alone with his sherry
radio and books. Easymeat,

his long haired cat, rowdily
munching through a can of

Jellymeat; the one-bar heater
glowing merrily; smoke

rising from the ashtray...
A long slow goods train squeals

past the back of the house,
its light on gully, tree,

and anything else that falls
in its path.
