Psychopaths in Mosgiel

According to the ODT on Saturday, there was once a surprising random enquiry at a Dunedin library: the person was wanting information on "psychopaths in Mosgiel".

Or so the librarian thought at first. It quickly emerged that the question had been misheard, and the topic of enquiry was actually "cycle paths in Mosgiel".

As you were.

Wondering if I should be taking this personally :-) - "Confused of Mosgiel"

Haha. That gave me a well needed giggle, thanks :)

Cheers Dan, it made me laugh too. There are whole collections of very funny misheard phrases, especially in song lyrics. The name for such a thing is a 'mondegreen' (Google it!)

My 2 favourite mondegreens are: "excuse me while I kiss this guy" (Jimi Hendrix); and my Mum's childhood belief that the Otago Daily Times was really called "The Tiger Daily Times".

As for you, 'Confused of Mosgiel', you're a sounding a little paranoid! ;-)

Awesome! "Our Father, who art in heaven - Harold be thy name.." ;)

And on my mission I discovered "Soramimi" as well...
