Good news bad news

Good news: I'm going to Paris, to see this Egyptian cat goddess Bastet in the Louvre.

And I'm going to London, to see JMW Turner's Rain, Steam and Speed: the Great Western Railway in the National Gallery.

But I'm only going because Mum and Dad left me a share of their house.
And we sold the house today.

Listening to Leonard Cohen singing "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."

ha - that's my favourite Turner Painting. I even bought a poster of it and had it pinned on my bedroom wall in Southfields.

Sorry it has to be a bitter-sweet trip, but here's wishing you happy travels and a good time

I'm taking my children to Spain this year, using the money from the same source (though my own family obvs, not yours).

Hope the settlement has all gone through okay, with no last minute panics.

And also...you know, take care.

Thanks Terence. I am so looking forward to seeing the Tate collection of Turners too. Have never been to Europe yet.

Hi Third Cat, and thanks too, for the understanding... My parents didn't get to travel to Europe until mid-life either, so I know they would have been glad that I used some of the money to travel too.
